Summer Movies
Summer Movies is a series of free experiential screenings organized in Vilnius for the fifth time. Having held the first event at the foot of the Barbican hill in the city centre, the organizers promise to visit residential districts such as Žvėrynas, Šeškinė, Žirmūnai, Lazdynai as well. The repertoire includes favourites from the latest programme of the Vilnius International Film Festival “Kino pavasaris”, and the best works of Lithuanian filmmakers. Movie screenings are free of charge.
Deep Rivers Run Silent
Deep Rivers Run Silent is an ongoing series of summer screenings and events organized by Meno Avilys under the Liubartas Bridge. The project is taking place in Vilnius for the fourth time – this year, the program will invite you to get to know the road movie genre by presenting numerous noteworthy films from around the world. Screenings are free of charge.
Bear, Lion & Palm
The courtyard of the Lukiškės prison has also turned into a cosy open-air movie theatre this summer. Up until the end of September, every Monday, film lovers can watch the best works from the most important European film festivals – Cannes, Berlin and Venice. Consume as much cinema as you can” – invites the organizers, who show the screenings free of charge.
Cinema Under the Stars
At the end of July, the open-air cinema festival “Cinema under the Stars” returns for the 14th time. This year’s festival program includes the most prominent film movements and their representative works – legendary films “Fight Club”, “Four Weddings and a Funeral”, “Bonnie and Clyde”, “Coffee and Cigarettes”, and others. “Cinema under the stars” will traditionally take place in the courtyard of the Palace of Grand Dukes of Lithuania.
